We arrived in Ljublijana, Slovenia one day prior to the start of the trip, and we able to walk around the city center during the day. Ljublijana, with a population of 270,000, was the most populated of all of the trip destinations, and the trip into the old city was a great way to start the trip. Memorably, we were walking Ljublijana on the day of the when the United States played Slovenia in the World Cup, and all outside cafes and bars were packed to the gills with locals watching the game.
